May 1995 - MP’s Dinner Urged to Support ‘Hope for the Temple’

In May, the Hindu Council of UK organised a special meeting with several MP’s. It was a successful evening with the MPs giving their full support and backing to the Temple planning application.

Naresh Chadha, Chairman of HKTDM said, “The Hindu Community expects the Secretary of State to give decision in our favour”. He urged the MPs to give full commitment to this cause.

Among those present were Tory MP’s Hugh Dykes, Toby Jessel, Nirija Deva, Labour MPs Bryan Davies, Stephen Timms, and Keith Vaz, Shadow Environment Minister who fully supports the temple’s case. The pressure is now on the Government to make the right decision.
